Well its been a busy week! Had a number of events to prepare for and they all went well. I catered for a business event at the Milton Park Innovation Centre for the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). It was a speed networking evening and the attendees were very complimentary about the food. One even emailed me the following day to thank me for the fresh, tasty food (better than the plastic stuff normally served!). His words not mine.
I also prepared four different soups, using locally grown vegetables, and two new dishes for the Wallingford Local Producers Market on Saturday. Sold out of most of the fresh and sold some of the frozen dishes. Had a couple of folks ask for quotes for events in the summer!
Delivered a dinner party for 6 which was I offered at the village auction last November. Good evening and not much of the food came back.
The highlight for me was a call from the Oxford Times to a press release I sent them on Monday. On Tuesday the business editor called me and asked if a photographer could come out and take pictures for an article on the pork pies I am making using a local suppliers quality pork. They started their pig business last year using Oxford Sandy and Black pigs. They also sell at the Wallingford Local Producers Market. We have been discussing the pork pie idea for a few weeks and we thought lets do it. I made a pie which we tested at the market and within minutes we had a queue of people wanting to buy some! I have cooked a number of pies so far and all them have sold at the market very quickly. Click on the link above to see the Oxford Times. So some great PR and a great but busy week.
Wonder what next week has in store?
